AP reports that the Yankees most eligible bachelor, Derek Jeter and his girlfriend, Minka Kelly will be married November 5th on Long Island.
Congratulations Derek!
I wonder what kind of bachelor party Tim McCarver is going to put together.

The "best man" of the groom traditionally throws the bachelor party. Tim McCarver is Derek Jeter's greatest fan even though as an announcer, he is supposed to be a neutral commentator. The joke is that he is so friendly with Jeter that he could be the best man at his wedding.......though of course he will not be.
Myles McCauley was traded to the Greyhounds as well.

The Brown trade to London looks good as we get a better guy back.
The McCauley trade is probably even. Livingston who we get back is probably a tad better now but McCauley may have better long term potential.
The Whalers are trying to win it all this year so this is the reason for the trades.

A date already? And November 5th? I'm assuming that Jeter has already made plans to either tank the playoffs or to sweep their opponent in four games.
Remember just a few months ago, Game 6 of the World Series was played on November 4th.

Good point. Never thought of that. In spite of the fact that it is an AP report, I am starting to doubt the veracity, frankly. As a matter of fact, I absolutely doubt the date now.
