Come on, now. I know this post is sarcastic, but Derek Jeter NEEDS this money! It's to help his family. Help his family buy New Zealand, perhaps.
Well if he's got a kiwi fetish, then I guess this makes a little bit of sense. I do like Derek but I think "greed" is the most likely motivator here.
