Nationals sales pitch to Cliff Lee

"We will give you that seventh year!

And if you sign with us, you will retire with a 2.13 career post-season ERA. How cool is that?

What?

Hey how about this?

Do you usually have personal plans in October?

Do big crowds at ballparks make you nervous?

We will even make Jayson Werth shave and put his locker on the other side of the clubhouse.

Whad'ya say there Cliff?"

I wouldn't be surprised if he took the Nationals up on their offer. It'll be great for him and his family-they'll have all their Octobers free for leaf-peeping.
Seriously, I really wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in Texas.

Yes, I think it is the Rangers or Yankees.

The Washington franchise is just getting too weird. It would be a two man team (three if Strasburg came back) with a bunch of AAAA players making the minimum filling it out. And playing before crowds of 10,000. When do the checks start bouncing?
