Kurt Bevacqua
Born on today's date, Kurt Bevacqua.
"Bevacqua? He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. If I was pitching when Bevacqua was playing, I would have sent a taxi to the airport to make sure he made it to the park."
Tommy Lasorda after Bevacqua accused the Dodgers of throwing at him.

I always think of Kurt when I see the Seinfeld episode, "The Race" with Jerry's gym teacher, Mr. Bevilacqua. BTW Kurt did hit .412 in the 1984 World Series with 2 doubles and 2 home runs. During the regular season he had hit just .200 with 4 doubles and 1 home run.
I do remember one of the home runs as I watched the Tigers in that series.
While I see you think of Seinfeld, my thoughts on Bevacqua are usually:
1. 1976 Topps bubble-blowing champion card.
2. 84 World Series home run.
3. Absolutely nothing beyond this.
Hilarious.
