I would have given him the pay he deserved for his talent is what made the Yankees the success they were in those peak years when they won the World Series. The Yankees didn't win after they traded him and moral on the team was low without him. He was worth every penny even with some losses in 1953, but the Yankees let him walk and lost the Series after that. Sharon
