Ashby worked as the Astros' color man after he retired as a player. He was just awful when he began but got better and better. It got to the point that I would pay attention to the broadcasts to hear him. Then the Astros replaced him. I never heard a good reason and I'm not very much interested in the club these days. He's working the Toronto games now. Their gain.
