Roy Campanella
On this date in 1948, the Dodger's Roy Campanella made his debut catching Ralph Branca and getting a double and two singles in a 6-4 loss to the Giants.
"To be good you've gotta have a little boy in you. When you see Willie Mays and Ted Williams jumping and hopping around the bases after hitting a home run, and the kissing and hugging that goes on at home plate, you realize they have to be little boys."
