They could try playing or else he might get cut like cousin Aaron Maybin formally of the Buffalo Bills!
I didn't know he had a cousin who played.
I know while in the minors, he was billed as the next coming of Al Kaline for the Tigers.
I saw him play a few times and while not a scout, I was never much impressed with that long, wild swing.
As it turns out, he is an average or maybe slightly below average MLB player.
Moral of the story: Don't overvalue these "can't miss" prospects.
Kind of like when the "hobby lovers" were drooling over everything Mat Gamel and Matt Laporta was doing. Laporta according to some hobbie weenies was the next coming of Christ. That's Tim Tebow's job by the way!
