"I want to thank all the pitchers who couldn't go nine innings, and manager Dick Howser who wouldn't let them go." - on winning the 1982 Fireman of the Year Award
When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I lived on a quiet street behind Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. My mother loves baseball and she'd walk us over to the ball park at the college whenever she noticed the lights on. I could not name a player on any of those games we watched if not for his unique name. I remember watching him pitch and sitting in the grass on a blanket, eating peanuts out of the shell. Here's to you Dan Quisenberry, some of my earliest baseball memories.

Great memories! Great mom!
Very underrated, and unfortunately forgotten, player.
