Called shot

On this date in 1932, Babe Ruth as legend has it, calls his home run against Cubs pitcher, Charlie Root in the 3rd inning of Game 3 of the World Series.

"My dad took me to see the World Series and we were sitting behind third base not too far back. Ruth did point to the center-field scoreboard. And he hit the ball out of he park after he pointed with his bat. So it really happened. - Supreme Court Justice, John Paul Stevens

"Ruth did not point to the fence before he swung. If he had made a gesture like that, well anybody who knows me know that Ruth would have ended up on his ass." - Charlie Root

that's a tough one, do I trust a supreme court justice or the pitcher who was standing there.

One was has definite vested interest but one was just a child so who knows what he "remembers".

I call it a "push".
