Riverfront Stadium

On this date in 2002, Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium was imploded.

I attended a game at Riverfront Stadium once.

My impression?

An inescapable sense of roundness.

You know those pretentious bands like Yes that did all those "concerts in the round"?

They never passed up Riverfront Stadium on their tours.

Riverfront was always a strange place to be. The stands moved to transform into a football field. I have seen a lot of awesome things at Riverfront so it is not all bad. I have seen Chipper there his rookie year, Randy Johnson, and many others. It was my childhood ballpark as Crosley was to my dad. At the end of the day, Great American Ball Park is great, I take my daughter there a few times a week during the season.
