Brian Holman
On this date in 1990, Brian Holman of the Mariners loses his bid for the major league's 13th perfect game with two outs in the ninth inning on Ken Phelps' pinch-hit home run in a 6-1 victory over the A's.
"At least it was a home run. If it had been a broken bat or a blooper, I would have lost my mind."
