Ty Cobb


On this date in 1912, Ty Cobb charges into the stands at Hilltop Park in New York and attacks a crippled heckler named Claude Lueker. Other fans and Tigers fight before order is restored. Cobb is suspended indefinitely for the incident.

"I had to fight all my life. They were all against me, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."
