Allie Reynolds
On this date in 1951, Allie Reynolds of the Yankees throws the second of his two no-hitters of the season blanking the Red Sox 8-0.
"A no-hitter is not the best standard by which to judge a pitcher. That's just luck. I've pitched four games better than the no-hitters and lost three of them."
