Jack Kramer
On this date in 1995, Jack Kramer passed away at age 77.
"He never delivered when we needed him. His attitude was all wrong from the time he first joined up.
All he cared about the game of baseball was the money he could get out of it to buy fancy clothes and cars and strut as handsome Jack." - teammate Birdie Tebbetts

Birdie Tebbetts
On this date in 1940, rowdy fans in Cleveland drop a basket of green tomatoes onto the head of Tigers catcher, Birdie Tebbetts while he sat in the bullpen.
That is why concessions in Cleveland switched over to hot dogs and soft-buns, you know.
Those concessions workers should have been suspicious when someone wanted to purchase a whole basket of tomatoes; especially when they asked if they had any rotten ones!
