Clete Boyer

On this date in 2007, Clete Boyer passed away at age 70.

"One day during infield practice, he came over to me and stepped off five paces near second base and drew a line in the dirt. He said, 'You take care of this area and I'll take care of everything on the other side of the line.'" - Bobby Murcer who came up as a shortstop on instructions he received from third baseman, Clete Boyer

Clete Boyer

On this date in 1969, Morganna, a well-endowed fan dressed in a mini-dress jumps onto the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium field and kisses the batter Clete Boyer on the cheek. Boyer then promptly ends a 1 for 17 slump with a RBI single and went on an 8 for 15 tear.

Who needs steroids?

Frank Malzone

Born on today's date, Frank Malzone.

"I would go to those Old-Timers Days at Yankee Stadium and here come all the players. They'd just keep running them out there. They would bring out Yogi, Moose, Hank Bauer, Mantle, Whitey Ford, Tony Kubek, Richardson, Clete Boyer. I'd say to myself, 'No wonder we (Red Sox) never won anything."

Clete Boyer meets Morganna

On this date in 1969, Morganna, a well-endowed fan dressed in a mini dress, runs onto the field at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and kisses Clete Boyer on the cheek while he is standing at the plate. Boyer then promptly ends a 1-for-17 slump with an RBI single and goes on a 8-for-15 tear.

And he didn't take her on the road with him why?
