Bonderman needs that third pitch, like now!

So we have been hearing for weeks now that Jeremy Bonderman's velocity in his rehab starts after his surgery is only in the 80's.

Well, Jeremy Bonderman made his long-awaited first return start with the Tigers last night against the struggling White Sox and guess what? He's only throwing in the 80's.

Pitching line: 4 innings pitched, 6 runs, 8 hits, 3 walks, 1 strikeout.

Not promising for a 2 pitch pitcher who every spring training has resisted efforts from the pitching coach and staff to teach him a change up. Maybe not the best decision there. Highlights of last night's game show numerous balls left over the fat part of the plate and if they are coming in at 88 and the hitter has no fear of a change up, they easily sit on that and those balls are going to leave off the bat in the opposite direction at a much higher velocity than 88.

I am not sure about that "Dynasty Cornerstone" designation right now.

That said, I bet you can get that card cheap.
