It's not like he's left-handed or anything

Per Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star, the Royals have designated Sidney Ponson for assignment. Ponson was 1-7 with a 7.38 ERA in 14 games including 9 starts.

"I still like his stuff," manager Trey Hillman said. "I really do. It's just a matter of location."

I am going to ignore the Hillman quote as it just makes him sound like an enabler.

Kansas City doesn't have ANYBODY in their system who they wanted to look at, that they could have given these 9 starts to? They thought this would work out well for them going with Ponson?

You are rebuilding (perpetually) but you have Sidney Ponson in your rotation?
