Sorry dude! Nothing personal!

First off, this is a baseball site and always will be but sometimes there are non-baseball stories that are just so good that it is impossible to ignore them and I feel that I absolutely must share them here.

I guess I should really set up a new site for some of this other stuff but that would take work and well I have this site so....

So without further ado, you may have seen that Alexandre Bilodeau of Canada won a gold medal in the "Men's Mogul" at the Winter Olympics. It appears that the "Men's Mogul" has something to do with skiing. Frankly, I did not at all see any of this as I have absolutely no interest in the Winter Olympics but for purposes of this little story, it doesn't really matter if I saw the competition or not.

It seems that Bilodeau beat out multi-millionare, Dale Begg-Smith from Australia who was heavily favored in this event. Further, an Australian sport official is not at all happy with the results alleging that the judges inflated scores for Bilodeau at the expense of Begg-Smith.

Per the Vancouver Province:

"My own opinion is that Alex is not capable of a 4.8 or a 4.9 (on his turns), because five is a perfect score," Geoff Lipshut, the Australian team's director said.

"Dale had the highest turn points and the highest air points," he said. "Dale skied unbelievable and I don't think you can fault anything he did. I thought Dale won, but that's just a gut feeling."

Lipshut would have you believe that this is the end of the story but there is quite a bit more to it.

You see, according to the Sidney Morning Herald, Begg-Smith is also notorious for running a company which unleashes spyware through pop up ads on unsuspecting internet users across the globe. The paper links to a quote from Begg-Smith's company, AdsCPM where he boasts of doing 20,000,000 pop ups per day. Wonderful! Not!

Ok, let me get this straight. This guy is ALLEGEDLY a multi-millionare spyware/spam king and he is complaining about losing a judged event at the Olympics?!

Dude, I have to believe that the "Men's Mogul" world is a pretty small one and most if not all of those judges know who you are and what you do for a living.

That being the case, you are lucky to be in the top 20 in this event. You are lucky to have even qualified.

Look, you take the good with the bad. You ALLEGEDLY make millions of dollars in the spam/spyware business and that is "good"; I guess. The "bad" is that you just are not going to win any events judged by people.

You know, people with computers.

Sorry.

What an ass!!! The Olympics have become so political. It's not bad enough the French Judges screwed up the last one and now you have some mate from down under who was probably pissed at the fact that the band "Men at Work" was busted for copying a song and has decided to take his retribution out against the athletes at the Olympics.

Maybe if he would have passed around vegamite sandwiches to the judges it would have helped a little but I don't know.
