Someone didn't like it

You probably saw that the Red Sox brought Nomar Garciaparra back to town Wednesday and signed him to a one day minor league contract so that the former Red Sox great could retire as a member of the organization.

Boston Globe columnist, Dan Shaughnessy sure did.

Here are some excerpts from his Thursday column entitled "In historically bad taste here".

"Total fraud"

"truly nauseating"

"If Nomar had been hooked up to a polygraph, the machine would have exploded."

"pathetic effort to sell some product"

"It was a drag to see him in the clubhouse." (while he was playing though it was probably just a drag to see him Wednesday)

"infected the workplace" (again back to his playing days)

"yesterday's sorry spirit of disingenuousness and hypocrisy" (one of these words is not in a standard dictionary)

"Now he is a credential-wearing media guy, groveling for free food." (Nomar has taken a position with ESPN. Does Shaughnessy refuse the free food?)

He does come around at the end when he states, "Welcome home, Nomie."

I am sensing that Shaughnessy and Garciaparra are not friends.

I am also sensing a "letting go" problem with Shaughnessy but maybe I am reading into it too much.

You know there are "relationship expert" type people who can work on these things and.......ah forget it.
