Dont blame me!

I see that in yesterday's White Sox/Twins game, apparently there was an unusual play where the Twins Jim Thome was up with a man on second base. The White Sox employed the shift on Thome putting the shortstop on the right side of the infield. Thome then hit the ball to left center field. The runner on second, J.J. Hardy then ran for home figuring with the shortstop on the other side of the field, there would be nobody to take the relay throw from the outfield and he would score easily.

Unfortunately for Hardy, White Sox third baseman, Mark Teahen simply took the relay throw from left fielder, Juan Pierre and Hardy was out easily at the plate.

Per AP, here is Pierre's quote on the play:

"I saw Teahen and chucked it to him and got it out of my hands so I couldn't get blamed. He made the relay, but I was shocked about how far away he was from home when Teahen got the ball."

Huh?

Who is the manager over there where the players just want to make the play so to "not get blamed" instead of making the play for it's own sake.

Oh yes, that's right.

Carry on.

Good ol' Teahen, glad to see he is doing well, just wish it was still for the Royals. And yes, that was a silly comment from Pierre.
