The goal is to lose with dignity

Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com recently had a sit down with Andrew McCutchen of the Pirates. Here is just one question and answer:

MLB.com: What are your expectations for 2010 from both a team perspective and an individual one?

McCutchen: From a team perspective, it will be more just being ready to play every day and basically preparing yourself right now to be able to play a full season and do what we need to do to win games. We want to be able to say we got beat and not that we lost. That's the biggest thing for us as a team.

And the Pirates have fans why?

Ha, that's hilarious. I get what he's trying to say, but an expected losing culture can't be a good thing.

We kinda see the same thing out here with the Padres. I'm not a home team fan, but I DO enjoy going to the games, if for no other reason than to see the visiting teams. However, I refuse to pay money for good seats - instead I'll pay for bleachers and 'upgrade' to one of the 20,000 empty seats close to the infield. The Padres still "win", but only kinda.

STOP PICKING ON THE MAN! HE DOES NOT HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD YET IN PITTSBURGH AND IS A VIRGIN TO CRIME. LEAVE HIM BE!!! HE'S NOT GOING OUT AND RIPPING TOWEL DISPENSERS OFF OF YOUR SHEETZ BATHROOM WALLS. HE'S NOT GETTING EVERYONE DRUNK AND SCREWING ANYTHING THAT HAS A HOLE THAT IS 20 YRS OLD AND GOES, "WHATEVER" OR "SO ARE YOU LIKE REALLY BIG BEN OR LIKE YOU KNOW TOTALLY 4TH AND SHORT". FOR PETE'S SAKE HE HASN'T EVEN SMOKED WEED WITH ART ROONEY YET. LEAVE'EM ALONE. JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU HEARTLESS BASTERDS! BWAAHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Isn't sarcasm a wonderful thing? The only thing going good for Pittsburgh right now is the Penguins. Otherwise you have the "Criminal Steelers" and the "LOSING PIRATES". There is no hope for Pittsburgh.
