Lincecum's very seasoned cap

Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the ratty-looking cap that Tim Lincecum wore on Opening Day is the same cap that he has worn in all 91 of his major league games.

Yep, he has never ever changed caps.

"If I had one superstition," Lincecum said holding his cap, "it would be this guy."

Man!

I know that guys like Manny and Posada do this with batting helmets but those helmets are like......hard and stuff. Regular caps are soft. You know like a breeding ground for......all kinds of things.

And to top it all off, Lincecum is kind of.......well hairy.

Who knows what's happening inside that thing.

There could even be a spontaneous generation experiment going on in there that even Louis Pasteur would have to acknowledge.

I am not saying that reporters should wear contamination suits around his locker but they are definitely proceeding at their own risk if you ask me.

I mean, come on now!
