Every game, viewers can text vote for the Tiger player of the game. Inge is always among the top 3 vote getters. Even if he goes 0-4 with three punch outs. I don't get the love affair Tiger fans have with the guy. Inge, Lard, Sizemore, Everett... talk about a resting place for the opposing starting pitcher.
I notice that the ladies REALLY REALLY like him. There is a myth out there that he is a gold-glove level fielder. He is really an above average fielder who makes some truly great plays but too often struggles with routine plays. You don't win ballgames with defense anyway; especially at that position.
Do you know who led the NL in defense last year? The Pirates.

He's your lovable Dustin Pedroia type. Thing is, he only put up those stats for 1-2 months from one season. I was never a believer in the Inge.

When you're 6" shorter than all other 3B, you have to dive to make a routine play.
HA HA HA HA
You might get stoned if you said that at my seat at Comerica Park.
