On this date in 1930, St. Louis Cardinals fireballer, Flint Rhem disappeared just before a crucial series with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
When he reappeared two days later, he said he had been kidnapped, sequestered in a hotel room and forced to drink an incapacitating amount of liquor. Somehow he survived the incident.
A victim of one of those "Prohibition gangs" back then, no doubt.
