Christina Taylor Green: 2001 - 2011

A nine year old little girl who's father is Dodger scout, John Green and who's grandfather is Dallas Green.

Her only "crime" was showing an interest in listening to a speech by her local congressional representative.

I had held off posting a tribute to this little angel with the hope that I would have some worthwhile thoughts to share but frankly nothing is coming to me. Perhaps the sadness is blocking everything out.

Some are politicizing this horrible event. I have heard many blame Sarah Palin and while I am not a fan of hers, I don't think that is quite fair. I have also heard a right wing commentator blame "liberals" but I must say I was frankly unable to follow his argument so I will put that in the "not fair" category as well. I have heard others blame the State of Arizona but unfortunately there are unbalanced people everywhere so I can't go there either.

For now, I am going to block all that out and think of this wonderful child.

RIP Christina.

The only person to blame is the kook who pulled the trigger. It's heartbreaking for the family and for everyone who has to think they can't be safe in public.

Last week I discussed "decision making" with my students... and mentioned how one poor decision could change a person's life. I failed to mention that it could affect others too.

Anytime a innocent person's life is taken... it's a shame. But when it's a child's life... it's just a little more saddening (at least for me). My thoughts go out to this child's family. Nothing will bring Christina Taylor Green and the others ruthlessly murdered by this beast, but thankfully they'll live on in the thoughts and memories of their families and friends.

I hope justice will be served to all of the cowards involved.

There is another one quite like Christina Taylor Green: Scott Calvin Dieter. He was born in the former Soviet Union and he was the adoptive son of Craig Brian Eric and Beth Ann (Laufer) Dieter. It would be possible to put the American Flag (Scott Dieter's citizenship) and the Ukrainian or Russian Flag (Scott Dieter's birthplace). The gunman of Dieter was shot dead by Ben (never "Benjamin") A. Campbell.
