Well I can tell you this! Having swung a bat, I can personally say that there is no way Mickey Mantle hit that ball 565 feet in Washington against the Senators that day. No way!
Too far. Too long. Too much propulsion for a simple wood bat.
I couldn't hit it a ball half that far and I have personally swung a bat!
It was a conspiracy to build up the mythic status of Mickey Mantle. Somebody in the Commissioner's Office put that into motion but I am not sure who but it must have been somebody really high up. Like really high.
Figured this out while swinging a bat.
I have also looked through a telescope and let me tell you, the universe is......
