Born on today's date, Ron Hunt.

Perhaps Ron's greatest skill was knowing how to get hit by a pitch as he got hit 243 times in his 12 year career. In one game on April 29, 1969 against the Reds, he got hit 3 times. Somebody was seriously leaning into pitches if you ask me.

I see that Ron Hunt now runs an instructional camp in Missouri.

"Hey kids! Stand in there! Don't back down! They can't call it a strike if it hits you. It only hurts for a few seconds!. We got plenty of splints in the training room if you need one."

And he wonders why so few kids sign up for his camp.
