Earl Weaver
On this date in 1982, Earl Weaver is suspended by AL President Lee MacPhail for removing his team from the field and forfeiting a spring training game to the Royals. Weaver was upset that the umpires did not provide him with an official batting order after the Royals made some substitutions.
"He played the percentages and hardly ever got caught with his pants down. That's why he's a Hall of Fame manager. It certainly wasn't for his personality." - Rick Dempsey

That's Earl! Nothing got past him. The game hasn't quite been as much fun for me since he retired.
One never wants to read "pants down" and "Earl Weaver" in the same blog post.
That why the team ALWAYS provided him with a secure belt.
