Wow, I'd never heard that he said that quote, but I always remember wishing he would have done more stretching/lifting. Everything I've read is that he just worked on the baseball part of baseball.
I guess I'd still rather root for a guy like Griffey, though - who didn't get that medical advancements could lengthen his career - than a guy like Bonds who understood that but took it to a cheating level.
