Would Rizzo have said that if Bob Gibson did the same thing?
I don't get it.
As I recall, that hit by pitch with Hamels was one of a personal dislike of Harper unrelated to the baseball game which I think set Rizzo off.
It was also kind of a "freebie" for Hamels in that Harper in his 8th major league game and with his poor reputation for behavior in the minors was really unable to charge the mound (I'm not saying that the situation called for it) so I think Rizzo felt compelled to defend him.
