Jason Grimsley

On this date in 1994 at Comiskey Park White Sox manager Gene Lamont accuses Albert Belle of the Indians of using a corked bat. Umpire Dave Phillips confiscates the bat and stores it in the umpire's dressing room. Belle's teammate Jason Grimsley crawls 100 feet above the ceiling, drops down into the umpire's dressing room and exchanges Belle's bat for another one. After the game the switch is discovered and Belle is given a 7 game suspension.

"That was one of the biggest adrenaline rushes I've ever experienced. It was pretty hairy up there."
