I hate to come on this blog and be serious, but he's right.
Every morning I get up at 5:00 am and run 3 miles. About 5 of 7 days a week I really don't want to do it and my knee hurts, or my ankle hurts or whatever. I just start running and about 1 mile in to it, everything feels fine.
I didn't ask to turn 50.
Ironic.
I have been running since 1990 and have been off for about 12 months now (first time ever) with injuries I just can't beat though making some progress lately (plantar fascitis in both feet and a sciatic nerve issue that only crops up when running).
Age 51 here.
Plantar fascitis and nerve damage is ouch, they wouldn't smooth out with running, for sure. I'm sorry about that. I so far just have creaky joints and muscles that all get together each evening while I sleep and vote on who is going to be next in line to give me pain... Right now it's my ass muscle, yes, my ass muscle. Mr. gluteus maximus.
