Bob Lemon


On this date in 2000, Bob Lemon passed away at age 79.

"I have had bad days on the field, but I didn't take them home with me. I left them in the bar along the way home."

Great line. Bob was a key guy on Lou Boudreau's 1948 championship Indians. He won 20 games in the regular season and 2 in the World Series. Oh, and he even batted .286 with 5 HR and 21 RBI in the regular season.
