Frank Robinson

On this date in 1982, Frank Robinson is elected into the Hall of Fame.

"I'd play in the park until it got dark and then I'd go over to the community center and we'd play indoors. I can't remember having a hot meal from the time I was 12 until I signed with the Reds. I'd get home when everybody was in bed and there'd be my supper in a cold pot on the stove."
