On this date in 1988, Kirk Gibson of the Dodgers walks off the field before his first spring training game with the club after teammate Jesse Orosco places eye black in his cap causing Gibson to unknowingly wipe it all over himself on the field.

The only reason I will never be able to cheer for the D-Backs.
He was a humorless jackass then and he is a humorless jackass now. At least he is consistent.
