He's not only a sour-puss on the card
It appears that the Mets newly acquired catcher, Chris Coste is not exactly pleased to be with his new team.
Per Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, the ex-Phillies catcher/first baseman signed with the Mets just three days after belittling his new team in an interview with a Philadelphia sports website.
After telling CSNPhilly.com that he "will always be a Phillie," Coste said he had been hesitant to sign with the Mets, "It was the Mets," Coste said. "It's the last team I ever saw myself playing for. I knew I was going to accept (the contract), but had to think about it for a few days."
This guy is 37 years old and hit .224 last year with 2 home runs (both of them) and 18 rbis.* And he had to think about a contract offer from a major league team?
Hey Coste, I know catching Oliver Perez is no picnic but so what? Further, Gary Sheffield is no longer on the roster so what is the problem?
Life is rough I know but.....
Mets fans, got any rotten tomatoes?
*I know that he is a defensive catcher but so what?

He's spoiled because he has a world series ring, probably one that he didn't contribute too much in earning. Now that he's with the Mets, he won't have another taste of winning in addition to the fact that he won't be getting to much playing time; no wonder he's so sour.
He's a lifetime Phillie, even though he was CUT by the Phillies in 09, and picked up by the Astros for the remainder of 2009?
Um....you might think you are, but apparently the Phillies disagreed.
Core Contrarian:
Actually, he's NOT a very good defensive catcher. And his offense has declined over the past 3 years.
Houstoncollector:
I don't think he's a lifetime Phillie. He spent a number of years with independent non-affiliated teams.
Jim,
Thanks for the clarification.
But with those offensive stats, where is his value?
Kevin
Anyone in favor of "NUKING" the METS management? I'll gladly get some dirty nukes from the Russians.
