Putting aside all the drug stuff, I can't help but notice that there is no talk about starting in the minors, learning the managing craft and working your way up like everybody else does.
Ryne Sandberg managed in Class A two years ago. Gary Carter managed in an independent league last year.
Jose Canseco starts at the top?

From what I understand, he presently plays on a co-ed softball team.
