Ronnie only did it the once! And it was just to see how nasty the stuff was, so he could speak with authority when telling his team not to use drugs!
I suspect Nolan Ryan had a one-way conversation with him that went something like this: "I don't believe a word of your story but the players like you and the team is doing ok. Unless this completely blows up in the papers, you get one last chance. Thank your lucky stars that this is Arlington and not New York City."
Do you think Ryan said all this to Washington, as he was bound and gagged in the trunk of his car and after the 4 hour drive from Dallas to Refugio? :)
