Devon White
On this date in 1988, The Angels open their game against the Brewers with only two outfielders as Devon White is finishing a phone call in the clubhouse when the game begins.
Today, with cell phones, White is out there no doubt.

Devon White
It seems that center fielder Devon White was in the clubhouse finishing up a phone call when the game started. Right Fielder Chili Davis tried to alert the umpires but apparently could not get their attention so the Angels played with eight defenders for a portion of the first inning. The Angels won won anyway 7-3. You can see that defense is overrated.
I think most phones back then were landlines attached to a cord. This one might even have been a rotary.
Today with cell phones, White is out there.

When a good time turns around
You must whip it
You will never live it down
Unless you whip it
No one gets away
Until they whip it
I say whip it
Whip it good!

Devon White
Born on today's date, Devon White.
On September 9th, 1989, Devon stole second base, third base and home in the sixth inning in a game against the Red Sox.
Joe Price and Rich Gedman?!
Explain yourselves!
