Last night I saw Ron Gardenhire bring in a right-handed pitcher....
How cute!
Ron, it don't matter! He's batting .163!
The bullpen catcher could've handled it!

"When you walk into my office and tell me you don't like your role, and he talked about his contract for next year, you lose me right there. I don't deal with that. We're talking about winning now. That's why he's out the door and another guy's in there to pitch." - Twins manager, Ron Gardenhire after Ayala's release in 2009

Every time that Gardenhire starts complaining....
....about the things I said about the Twins on Baseball Tonight, I just slip these glasses on and play the deaf mute.

Don't know much about math but....

"I'm not a math guy, but I believe that tomorrow is a must-win situation," says Minnesota Twins manager, Ron Gardenhire who's team is three games behind the Tigers with four to play.
You don't have to be a math major to manage in the major leagues. You don't need to know calculus, trigonometry or even algebra.
You do however need to know some very basic math and I think Gardenhire knows enough to get by.*
*At this point, it's just addition and subtraction so let's not go crazy and give him too much credit here.
