We sure have had a lot of snow this winter in Michigan. Nobody I know likes it so I think everybody just develops their own little coping strategies to deal with this unpleasant (mild term) side of nature. I know that our office has a contest to guess the date when the super giant piles of plowed (traffic-hazard) snow in our lot will completely melt. I think I have a pretty good chance to win as I have picked a date sometime in June.
Anyway, on one of our kids' numerous "snow days" this year, they were playing a game of snow baseball when the ball ended up on the roof embedded in the permafrost up there. I had to tell them that I was not about to go up on the roof to retrieve the ball and it would probably make more sense to look for another ball if they really wanted to get a regulation game in. I did tell them that on the bright side, when that ball falls from the roof, then that is a sure sign of spring. That seemed like eons ago. Mega-tons of snow have fallen on that ball since that date.
Well, guess what?
