"Base hit!"
Ummm no. How about a fly out to left field followed by a put out of a runner at the plate. Double play. (Two very different types of plays and outcomes)
You did have Computer Boy momentarily confused but I told him to watch the play and ignore the announcer as announcers don't always watch the game closely.
We are all human and everything but just don't let it happen again. As a matter of practice, I think I would watch the game and rely on my visual sense rather than just react to the crowd.
Just a little helpful advice that may come in handy in the future.
No charge.
Still friends and everything.

Quite some time ago, when Roger Clemens was still with the Red Sox, a trivia question popped on the screen during a game that Chip Caray was announcing.
The question was "who was the only other Red Sox pitcher to win the Cy Young."
Caray, in his usual "I'm trying to sound like I know everything but I actually know nothing voice," said: "Well, I think it would have to be the award's namesake, 'Cy Young.'"
I am sure some producer screamed in his ear: "IDIOT! Young retired 45 YEARS before the FIRST Cy Young Award was ever given out!"
That has always stayed with me, and Caray has done nothing to make me forget about that.
(By the way, the right answer is Jim Lonborg).
Are you SERIOUS?! Man, maybe he's up there drinking in the booth, keeping family traditions alive and all that sort of thing.
I thought I heard this during the game...
"Look at all the concentration that the players have. It's almost palpable."
A phrase that I think is overused, when describing pitches is: Nasty.
Filthy also fits that bill.
And I'm already tired of the football announcers that say, "He's hit a home run with that reception."
What?
They need to take the announcers from both teams and let us choose between the two with a push of a button like they do between spanish and english.
