Go away!

In last night's Angels/Indians game, Howie Kendrick of the Angels won the game with a two-out, ninth inning push-bunt hit between the mound and first base scoring Torii Hunter from third base. Kendrick bunted the first and only pitch thrown by Indians closer, Chris Perez giving the Angels a 4-3 win.

Unfortunately, Perez did not think the bunt was very sportsmanlike.

"It was a bad baseball play that happened to work out," Perez said. "I don't want to say it was bush league. But you never see that. Ninety-nine percent of hitters in that situation would rather win the game with a hit, not a bunt. It was a stupid play that just happened to work."

Two words from this end: Sore Loser!

Wait here's eight more: Don't hold your breath waiting for an apology!

No hold on, here are twenty more: If you throw at Kendrick the next time you face him, I hope he brings his bat to the mound.

Go fall in a well.

This was ridiculous, man.

The suicide squeeze is the most exciting play in baseball. It requires a PERFECT bunt, something very few major leaguers can do, and an executed steal of home.

Bravo to Torii, Howie, and the Angels coach (Scocia was tossed) to called and executed it. Bravo.

I think we have a new candidate for "dumbest quote of the year."

Someone needs to teach Perez that in situations like that you say, "I better not say anything or I might say something I regret."

Wait. I'm a newspaper guy. Scratch that.

No doubt.

Aside from the "sour grapes" aspect of this, whatever happened to tipping your hat to your opponent?

Again, if he throws at Kendrick the next time he sees him, I am going to be disappointed.
