Haven't you been paying attention?

You can only use your best pitcher (call him the "closer") in the ninth inning if you have a one, two or three run lead. Not even when you are tied.

You only throw them 60-70 innings a year max. They are too important for anything more.

Tony LaRussa said so and that is that.

It's a rule of baseball, you know.

The whole pitching game is completely messed up right now. None of it makes a damn bit of sense, but everyone is doing it.

The Royals may need to buck the current vistion of a closer, lord knows they have to figure something out. The bullpen just plain stinks, and Soria is seemingly our only good option. But they aren't gonna throw him out there for more than 4 outs more than once or twice a year. :(

I didn't realize how historically bad the Royals bullpen was until I looked at the roster yesterday. It truly is Soria and a bunch of stiffs. What do you do? I don't know but if it was me, Soria is pitching more and that is that.
