On this date in 1944, the Washington Senators start spring training with six knuckleballers on their staff: Alex Carrasquel, Mickey Haefner, Dutch Leonard, Bill Lefebvre, Johnny Niggeling and Roger Wolff. Catcher, Rick Ferrell will catch the flutterballs.
I do know that Rick Farrell is in the Hall of Fame and I think I am beginning to understand why.
