Ted Simmons was one of those players that I "Super" collected as a kid (before I ever heard of super collecting as a term). I was fortunate enough to get his 1971 card back in the day(doubles and triples possibly at one time) and the '72 card and a few others during his playing years. I wasn't a Cardinals fan but back then if I got a card of a guy and liked it I would look for more of his cards. I probably "Super" collected over 1/2 the players from the 1970s and late 60s.
I inadvertently "Super collected" players as in "seemingly getting them in every pack". Unfortuanetly it was usually guys like Diego Segui and Ray Oyler and guys like that.
On a serious note, I would also "Super collect" some bordeline stars like Boog Powell and Darell Evans because I just liked them for some reason.
