Tim McCarver to retire from network baseball after this season


He'll certainly be missed.

By somebody.

I'm not sure who exactly.

But he'll be missed. (Ok, no doubt speculation)

I'm sure it will be his wife who will miss him not working in broadcasting. Now he'll be home more. And he'll be telling her all those painfully boring stories about catching Steve Carlton or Bob Gibson in '67 world series that she's no doubt heard at least as many times as I have to the 10th power.
Maybe there are some little grandchildren somewhere in there that he can bore to death.

How do you have like a 1% approval rating and continue to stay on the job? I think the networks are sometimes tone-deaf.
