The Marlins pledge that they will try harder

AP reports that the Florida Marlins have made an agreement with the players union that they will increase spending in the wake of complaints that their payroll is so small that it violates baseball's revenue sharing provisions.

"In response to our concerns that revenue sharing proceeds have not been used as required, the Marlins have assured the union and the commissioner's office that they plan to use such proceeds to increase player payroll annually as they move toward the opening of their new ballpark," said Michael Weiner, executive director of the players association.

In other words, because you are making us, we will spend more money on players to be more competitive instead of pocketing the revenue sharing money but it was good while it lasted.

And they have fans why?
