Andruw Jones does not seem to like Frank McCourt

I note that in an L.A. Times article titled "Andruw Jones says he left because of Frank McCourt", there are the following quotes attributed to Mr. Jones:

"He wasn't standing behind me, I think" Jones said adding that if McCourt had shown him more respect, "I almost definitely would be part of the L.A. Dodgers right now."

"It was disrespect" Jones said of the way McCourt spoke to him in their last meeting.

"I got paid that money because that was my value."

"I know it's his money but sometimes they need to stay away from what's going on in the field. He never played baseball before. He might have a sense of it from running the team but he can't be too involved like that."

This from a guy who after coming to spring training looking like the Michelin Man put up the following numbers in exchange for $18 million: .158 average, 3 HR, 14 RBI.

Do you still dream of owning a major league baseball team?

I don't like Frank McCourt because I thought that Angela's Ashes was too bleak. Not bleak like Nataniel Hawthorne's House of the Seven Gables, but bleak nonetheless.

Had Andruw read Angela's Ashes, he would have understood the deep Irish poverty endured by his owner and why McCourt would not want to pay $18 million for 3 home runs.

He also might have gotten a bit confused thinking about how a busy real estate developer would have the time to write a book like that.
